- 50 miles
Key course facts: the 50K loop has approximately 6,400 feet of elevation gain and loss and is roughly 76% single track and 24% asphalt road. The route uses multiple junctions and aid station locations; all runners must download the course map to a GPS enabled phone or watch for offline use and maintain a battery level above 35% while on course.
Safety and equipment: the event is cupless, so runners should carry a personal bottle or collapsible cup. Mandatory equipment includes the phone-based map, a warming space blanket and safety whistle (provided at check in), and a light with spare batteries or a second light for later stages. Runners are asked to carry at least 50 ounces (1.5 L) of fluid when leaving aid stations.
Aid and logistics: there will be a minimum of three aid stations, with locations subject to change due to weather. Entrants may have one drop bag transported to the Long Road aid station. Runners must follow course markings, check in and out of aid stations for tracking, stay on the main trail to protect endangered plants, and obey race officials and safety patrols. Race management may remove a runner if continuing is deemed unsafe. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
