Hume & Hovell Ultra 2026
The Hume & Hovell Ultra is a weekend trail running event held on 10 October 2026 at the Hume and Hovell Track, starting from the Henry Angel Trackhead near Burra in the Tumbarumba region of New South Wales. The courses use sections of the Hume and Hovell Walking Track and follow parts of the historic 1824 route taken by explorers Hamilton Hume and William Hovell. Runners pass through native bushland, mountain terrain, and historic relics along Burra Creek.
Distances offered include:
- 11 km
- 22 km
- 50 km
- 100 km
- 100 km relay for teams
- Kids and Family Fun Run
The event provides generous cutoffs and is described as beginner friendly for shorter distances. The 100 km event is allocated 24 hours and requires participants to have completed a qualifying event. Check-in and gear checks take place on the weekend before race day.
Organisers note that unforeseen emergencies such as bushfires or floods may prevent the event from proceeding. If authorities direct cancellation or significant course closure within the two weeks leading up to the event, there will be no entry fee refunds for entrants.
