About the race
Hugh McKenzie Trail Races are held in the Lews Castle Grounds, Stornoway, in the Western Isles. On 29 August 2025, the event offers three race options: a solo 6km trail race, a team relay (three legs of 2km), and a Family 1km option (open to participants aged 8+ on the day). The event is run under a Scottish Athletics license with UKA rules and is open to runners, joggers, and walkers.
There is no entry fee; donations to the Western Isles Association for Mental Health are encouraged. Races start on the terrace in front of Lews Castle to support a memorial cause. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
