About the race
The 18th Annual HRCA Backcountry Wilderness Half Marathon is a trail race scheduled for October 31, 2026. The course covers 13.1 miles through the Douglas County East/West Trail and the Highlands Ranch Backcountry Wilderness Area, running across singletrack and varied terrain with hills and scenic views. The event location is in Douglas County, near Lone Tree, Colorado.
Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in each category male, female, and non-binary: 1st $600, 2nd $400, 3rd $200. Race entry information lists registration opening on December 1, 2025 and closing on August 26, 2026, with a registration fee of $65.00.
All participants receive a long sleeve technical race shirt, a custom race bib, and a custom finisher medal. Post-race amenities include a pancake breakfast provided by Flippin' Flapjacks and complimentary beers from Living the Dream Brewing.
