About the race
The Hollands Duin Trail is a trail running event organised by Trail Events that uses Vrijstaat Nederzandt in Noordwijk as its base. In the 14th edition, routes lead directly into the dune area and combine dune singletracks, sandy passages, dune ridges with views over the North Sea, beach sections and forest paths. Each distance has its own character within the same natural area.
Distances:
- 6 km : 55D+ elevation
- 10 km : 80D+ elevation
- 21 km : 150D+ elevation
- 30 km : 220D+ elevation
All routes are fully marked with arrows and tape. The event works with start blocks printed on tickets: within the allocated hour each participant may start individually and a crew member is present to assist. Organisers send participant information by email about one week before the event and provide a GPX file the Thursday before. Aid and refreshment points are placed per distance: 6 km only at the finish; 10 km at 4 km and the finish; 21 km at 5, 11 and 15 km plus the finish; 30 km at 5, 20 and 24 km plus the finish. There are no disposable cups at the event; participants are expected to bring a racecup or order one in advance. Medals are available as an extra ticket. Maximum on-site capacity is 1460. Sponsors include Vrijstaat Nederzandt, Staatsbosbeheer and Gemeente Noordwijk. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
