About the race
The Holcombe Two Towers Fell Race takes place on Wednesday 25th August 2027 and runs across and around Holcombe Moor. The race starts near the Hare & Hounds pub at 400 Bolton Road West, Bury BL0 9RY, with the actual start 500 m from the pub. Runners follow Holcombe Old Road and continue through Redisher Woods, staying on the main track; the start line is a short distance after a steep descent on the main track.
The course is 6.5 km (4 miles) with approximately 400 m / 1,312 ft of climb. The route is well flagged but competitors are responsible for following the route and for their own safety. Entrants must bring FRA full kit to registration; the organisers will decide on the evening what kit, if any, must be carried.
There is fading daylight towards the finish through Redisher Woods, so slower runners may need a headtorch. A cut off time of 1 hour 15 minutes applies when the route meets Moorbottom Road for the second time; a time will still be given for later finishers inside event procedures. Minimum age is 14 with parental consent.
