Hochplatten Berglauf

The Hochplatten Berglauf is a traditional mountain running event held in the Chiemgau Alps. For the first time, this long-standing competition serves as the opening event for the Chiemgau Trail Run weekend. The race is organized by TSV Marquartstein and maintains its original character while being integrated into a larger trail running program.

The course covers a distance of 4.6 km with a total ascent that begins at an elevation of 535 meters above sea level and finishes at 1085 meters. The terrain is varied and consists of the following sections:

  • 1.3 km asphalt road
  • 3 km forest road
  • 300 m mountain path

The race starts in Marquartstein-Piesenhausen and leads participants up to the Staffn-Alm. The finish line and subsequent award ceremony take place at the Staffn-Alm, allowing participants to experience the autumn atmosphere of the region. This event officially marks the beginning of a multi-day racing schedule that includes additional trail running distances on the following Saturday. Runners who participate in this mountain run and also register for a Saturday distance are eligible for a discount on the latter. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
