About the race
Hilton College Trail Run takes place at Hilton College in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands on Sunday, 06 September 2026. The event uses loop courses that pass through farmland, pine plantations and the private 650 ha Hilton College Game Reserve, offering views of Otto’s Bluff, Albert Falls and the uMngeni River. The long and medium routes enter the private game reserve and pass through varied terrain where runners may encounter warthog, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest and six species of buck. Routes include dirt roads and flowing singletrack, with sections that drop into the uMngeni Valley and climb back onto the plateau lined with aloes.
The short course runs mainly through pine plantations and is described as cooler and calmer. Course specifics: - 20 km, 801 m elevation gain, 3 aid stations - 12 km, 559 m elevation gain, 2 aid stations - 7 km, 222 m elevation gain, 1 aid station There is no compulsory kit requirement listed and courses are subject to change. Registration opens on the event day and a race briefing is held before each race. Pets are not allowed.
