Highlander Assault Obstacle Race
Highlander Assault Obstacle Race is a Scottish Highlander themed obstacle event held in Pingree Grove, Illinois on August 7, 2027. The event program includes competitive and open heats across multiple distances and a family run.
Distances and main formats
- 50K King Arthur's Challenge endurance competitive heat with 100 to 120 obstacles
- 15K competitive and open heats with about 30 to 35 or 20 to 30 obstacles
- 5K open and hero heats with about 20 to 30 obstacles
- 3K Family Frenzy all ages run with 12 to 15 obstacles
Course features include classic obstacle race elements such as technical monkey bar style rigs and atlas stone carries, plus themed old world challenges like archery and caber carries. The event offers hero heats designated for First Responders, Military, and Veterans and multiple open heats throughout the day.
Spectator admission is ten dollars on site and children three and under are free. Parking is free.
Related event formats produced by the same organizer include a Dark Ages Night Obstacle Race, a five kilometer torch lit night OCR with illuminated obstacles and bonfires that includes a competitive heat, and a five kilometer Haunted Highlander Trail Run with live actors and animatronics that does not have a competitive option.
