About the race
Hayterdale Classic is a two-day event held at Hayterdale Trails in Addo, Eastern Cape, featuring both trail running and mountain bike (MTB) races. The trail run day offers three distances and the MTB day offers several race options, including an e-bike category for the 40 km distance.
Available distances:
- 21 km trail run
- 10 km trail run
- 6 km trail run
- 40 km MTB and e-bike
- 20 km MTB
- 12 km MTB
Entry fees vary by class. Standard adult fees listed include R380 for the 21 km trail run and R380 for the 40 km MTB, with mid-range fees such as R280 for the 10 km trail run and R280 for the 20 km MTB. A schools entry fee of R50 applies to primary and high school learners for each listed distance.
Age rules are specified by distance: the 21 km trail run requires participants to be at least 16 years old, the 10 km trail run 12 years old, and the 6 km trail run 6 years old. For MTB, the 40 km e-bike class requires 19 years and older, the 40 km MTB requires 15 years and older, and the 20 km and 12 km classes allow from 8 years old.
