About the race
Haunted Massacre Rocks Run is a Halloween-themed road race held at Massacre Rocks State Park in American Falls, ID (3592 Park Lane). Costumes are encouraged and prizes are awarded to the three best costumes.
The course is an out and back route that follows part of the Snake River with mixed surfaces including road, sand, and gravel. The route includes hilly sections and starts and ends at the park visitor center. Parking is available at the boat launch, the visitor center, and by the river.
The park setting includes views of the Snake River, remnants of the Bonneville flood, Oregon Trail wagon ruts, and Register Rock. The park also offers miles of hiking trails, rock climbing routes, and a disc golf course. There are four cabins and 42 campsites available for rent; reservations can be made through Reserve America or the park visitor center.
Registration pricing is published by the organizer: early registration is $25 with a deadline of October 19, main registration is $35 until October 25, and late registration on race morning is $40. Early registration guarantees a shirt; shirts will be mailed later. Proceeds from the event benefit Rockland High School XC. The event has past results listed for 2024 and 2025.
