Haulin' Aspen
Haulin' Aspen is a mountain trail running event in the Deschutes National Forest with courses that begin and end at Wanoga Sno-Park at 5,500 feet. The event uses single track and forest service roads across rolling terrain with elevation changes, wooded stretches, rocky and dusty trails, and Central Oregon scenery. Course offerings include:
- Full all-trail marathon (26.2 miles)
- Half marathon
- Half As 6.5-mile course
- Three-person marathon relay
The full marathon and relay course have six aid stations, with two stations passed twice for a total of eight aid opportunities; aid points are located at approximately miles 2.4, 4.7, 9.7, 12.7, 15.3, 19.1, 21.3 and 24. Note there are about five miles between aid stations 2 and 3, and roughly 700 feet of vertical gain between miles 21.5 and 24, with aid at the start and end of that climb. The half marathon includes three aid stations, with four aid opportunities at approximately miles 2.4, 4.7, 7.6 and 10.9. The Half As course has two aid stations near miles 2.1 and 4.4.
Packet pick up is offered at FootZone in downtown Bend the day before the race. Race day gear tags and a bag drop are available. Post race activities at Wanoga Sno-Park include music, food, beer, and local vendors. The event names Bethlehem Inn as its beneficiary and lists Bend, Oregon as the host city.
