Harting Multi-terrain '10' 2027
This is a volunteer-run, multi-terrain 10-mile race on routes in the South Downs National Park. The course uses private lanes, gravel tracks, bridleways and footpaths, and is waymarked with mile markers and two water stations.
All finishers receive a unique medal and are eligible for spot prizes including a draw for two pairs of Hoka trainers. Trophies and cash prizes are awarded to the first three male and female finishers and to first male and female in vets categories V40, V50, V60 and V70. The event supports the local hospice-at-home charity The Rosemary Foundation.
Race infrastructure at the War Memorial Sports Ground includes free parking on the sports field, portable toilets in the pavilion and supervised storage for bags. Teas, cold drinks and a selection of home-made cakes are available from the pavilion and the finish area provides a place to rest and meet other participants.
A free kids fun run for ages 4 to 14 runs on the sports field while the main race is underway; medals are given to all young participants. Important entry rules: main-race entrants must be at least 18 years old, dogs and buggies are not permitted and over/in-ear headphones are prohibited though bone conduction headphones are allowed. Precision chip timing is used and there is a 2 hour 30 minute time limit; runners behind schedule at the second water station (6.5 miles) may be withdrawn and returned to the finish.
