About the race
King of the Hill is a last-person-standing endurance race held in Pyalong, VIC. Competitors run a repeated 4.2 km circuit with about 300 m of elevation gain per lap. The course includes two major climbs and one very steep descent on predominantly grassy, uneven terrain with small rock clusters. Runners must complete the circuit once every hour; failure to finish a lap or to complete it within the hour results in elimination.
Each participant is allocated a 3 m × 3 m rest area near the start line for refuelling and recovery. Race passes include physio and ice-bath recovery, live results tracking, personalised photos, finisher medals with custom engraving of final lap counts, professional photography, and up to three support passes for people who share the rest area. The event offers on-site medical staff, food trucks and vendors, on-site tattooing as an included offer, and a live leaderboard with global livestream coverage. Participants must be 18 years or older.
Parking is available for a fee of $30 per car. In cases of extreme weather, organisers may use an alternative course. Prize money and category awards are offered, with a grand prize for the last person standing and additional cash prizes across gender and speed categories.
