Hamburg Hustle
The Hamburg Hustle is a first annual trail race held at Hamburg State Park in Warthen, GA. The event features a 5K course that begins in front of the park's historic grist mill and museum and follows a nature trail. Runners follow lakeside sections of the red and white trails with views of the lake and campground, reach an aid station at the halfway point, then loop back toward the park office along trails lined with muscadine vines.
The course is entirely on trail with no paved sections. Participants should watch for roots, rocks, and wildlife. Organizers describe the route as a flat course. Walkers are welcome, and they are asked to allow runners to start in front for safety.
Race day provisions include coffee, snacks, and fruit at the starting area, with additional water and snacks available at the aid station. All registration proceeds support the volunteer group Friends of Hamburg State Park. Registration closes September 1st; the published registration fee for the event is USD 33.50.
