About the race
The Pine Run at Tall Timbers takes place on October 10, 2026, at Tall Timbers Research Station in northern Leon County near Tallahassee. The event offers two course options:
- 20K trail run on grassy trails and double-track jeep roads.
- 14K ruck course for participants carrying weight on their back.
The routes run through pine uplands and Lake Iamonia bottomland with undulating terrain and some steep hills. The 20K course starts and finishes near the Beadel House and follows a counter-clockwise oblong loop with a short out-and-back and a repeated section; the 14K course is nearly the same but omits the out-and-back and the repeated portion. The course is marked with pink flags, with directional signs and volunteers where needed.
Aid and logistics: there are water coolers and port-o-lets at the start, and Gatorade/water stations appear roughly every 2–3 miles. For the 20K stations are at about miles 3, 6, 9, and 11; for the 14K ruck they are at about miles 3, 5.5, and 7.5. Both courses have a three hour cutoff (approximately a 14.5 minute per mile pace for the 20K and 20 minutes per mile for the 14K). Rucking weight standards are 10 lbs for women and 20 lbs for men.
Registration is online only with race-day registration available; fees and shirt options vary by membership status and timing. Awards are offered by overall, age groups, and category as specified for each distance. Packet pickup is available before race day at an REI Co-op location and on race day at the event.
