The marked course is built on a roughly 6.5 mile loop. Each loop has about 640 feet of elevation gain. The trail passes mesquite and tall oaks along Onion Creek and includes some double track and technical creek bed sections.
Aid and support include one on course aid station plus a start/finish aid area stocked with water, Tailwind, fruit, and grab n go snacks. The event is cupless; runners should bring a personal cup or bottle. Collapsible cups are available for purchase at packet pickup for $7 cash or Venmo and other merch purchases are available on site.
Course markings use caution tape, yellow arrows, and frequent confidence markers; many markings include reflectors for low light. Timing is chip based with ankle chips that must be worn and returned if a runner leaves the course. Pacers are not allowed. Overall awards include Top 3 male, Top 3 female, and Top Masters 50 and older. The event partners with the Great Springs Project and Travis County Parks Foundation. The Youth Trail Run is untimed and awards a finisher medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
