Granite Island Run : event overview
The Granite Island Run is a coastal running event held at Granite Island and Victor Harbor on 20 JUNE 2027. The event uses causeway access and island trails that include tram lines, gravel paths, stairs and some short steep climbs, with coastal views across the south coast.
There are multiple race options:
- Long Course
- Short Course
- Kids' Dash
Runners in the long and short courses must be at least 12 years on race day unless accompanied by an adult. The Kids' Dash is suitable for wheelchairs and prams and parents or older siblings may run or walk with children. Dogs are not permitted on Granite Island except for registered assistance dogs; organisers ask to be notified in advance if an assistance dog will be present.
The event uses electronic transponder timing linked to race number bibs. Bibs must be worn at waist height on the outside front and remain visible; bibs are a keepsake and do not need to be returned. Replacement bibs are available for a $20 fee. Online registration closes the Thursday before race day, with limited in-person entries subject to additional fees for long and short courses. Basic refund insurance allows refunds up to four weeks before race day less a 20% admin fee; an optional Diamond Cover provides extended refund protection.
