Get Up Show Up Community Day
Get Up Show Up Community Day is a fundraising event that benefits Jeppy's Playground, youth scholarships, and future community projects. The event is held at the park in San Andreas and partners with the Calaveras Community Foundation; eligible donations may be tax-deductible.
Distances offered include:
- 6.2 Miles 10K run, walk, and ruck
- 3.1 Miles 5K run, walk, and ruck
- 1 Mile Legacy event
- 0.5 Miles Kids Fun Run
- Team Fitness Challenge and several virtual distance options
Course and services: the 10K route is approximately 75% paved and 25% gravel; the 5K route is fully paved. Water stations are located at miles 1.5, 3.1, 4.6 and the 10K finish, and at mile 1.5 and the finish for the 5K. First aid assistance is available at the 5K and 10K turnaround points. The Legacy Walk is an untimed open course on grass, gravel, dirt path and pavement. Kid races are age-grouped for participants 12 and under and take place in Field B.
Ruck rules and team details: ruck divisions follow GORUCK standards with minimum carried weights based on participant weight, weights must be carried in a backpack or rucksack, and rucks are weighed for award qualification. The Team Fitness Challenge uses four stations and requires coed teams of four and a 35 pound kettlebell team weight.
Logistics and inclusions: packet pick up is on race day only at registration next to Jeppy's Playground. Strollers are allowed only on 5K walk, run and ruck routes; pets are not permitted while service dogs are allowed in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Registration items include event entry, an official event T-shirt (not guaranteed for registrations after October 31), finisher medals for walk/run, event patches for ruck, and post-event water and snacks.
