About the race
GEDE PANGRANGO ULTRA MARATHON is a mountain ultra trail event held within Gede Pangrango National Park, Cibodas. The event day is listed as 5 June 2027. Races traverse alpine and summit terrain including Surya Kencana Edelweiss Park, Mount Gede summit, Mount Pangrango summit, Kandang Badak, Cibodas Botanical Garden, Selabintana and other mountain points.
There are multiple race categories with significant elevation gain and time limits:
- 60 km GPU: about 5900 m elevation gain, 4 aid points, total time limit 20 hours.
- 47 km GPT: about 4260–4350 m elevation gain, 3 aid points, total time limit 15 hours.
- 27 km GPF: about 2200–2290 m elevation gain, 2 aid points, total time limit 9 hours.
Entry rules require participants to be at least 18 years old and in sufficient health for long-distance mountain running; 18–19 year olds need parental or guardian permission. Each category requires a minimum number of ITRA/UTMB points earned by finishing qualifying races within 01/01/2021 to 30/04/2027: GPU 60K requires 3 points (max from 2 races), GPT 47K requires 2 points, and GPF 27K requires 1 point. Fees include race kit, personal insurance, route services and a conservation donation. The organizer retains rights to media produced during the event.
