Gede Pangrango Ultra Marathon (GPU)
Gede Pangrango Ultra Marathon is a series of mountain trail races held at Gede Pangrango National Park, Cibodas. The event date is 5 June 2027. Races follow high-elevation routes that visit peaks, Edelweiss parks, and botanical garden sections within the park.
Distances and main figures:
- GPU 60K : 60 km, elevation gain around 5610 m, 20 hour time limit.
- GPT 47K : 47 km, elevation gain around 4350 m, 15 hour time limit.
- GPF 27K : 27 km, elevation gain around 2290 m, 9 hour time limit.
Sample route features include Selabintana, Surya Kencana Edelweiss Park, Mount Gede Summit, Kandang Badak, Mount Pangrango Summit, Mandalawangi Edelweiss Park, Cibodas Botanical Garden, and Mount Putri on applicable courses. The 60K course is described as an Ultra Sky Trail with multiple summit passages and four points classification.
Entry requirements include age 18 or older and prior ITRA or UTMB points earned within the period 01/01/2021 to 30/04/2027: three points for GPU 60K, two points for GPT 47K, and one point for GPF 27K. Participants must be prepared for mountainous terrain, variable weather, and self-reliance during extended efforts.
