Geaux Wild Ultra
Geaux Wild Ultra is a trail ultramarathon scheduled for March 6, 2027 in Doyline, LA and organized by BTR at Lake Bistineau State Park. The event offers multiple ultra distances on repeated loops of a single course.
- 100 Miler - 20 full loops
- 50 Miler - 10 full loops
- 50K - 6 full loops plus 1 mini loop
The course is a 5-mile loop that combines the Pintail, Willis-Homestead, and Koasati Trails. There are two aid stations: a main Start/Finish aid station stocked with hot food, trail snacks, water, ice, electrolytes, soda and other items, and an unmanned station around mile 2 to 3 that provides water, snacks, ice and electrolytes. Trail terrain is described as mostly flat with minimal elevation, natural surfaces, muddy sections and tree roots.
Pacers are allowed for all distances, with eligibility after completing a set number of loops for each distance. Pacers may use all aid stations. The Start/Finish area is at Pavilion 1 at the Boat Launch in Lake Bistineau State Park.
Lodging options are available through the state park and include premium and improved campsites with water and electrical hookups. Participants receive race swag such as a moisture-wicking race shirt, a speed cup and a bib belt, with a special jacket for 100 mile participants. Awards include finisher medals for the 50K and 50 mile distances and a finisher buckle for the 100 mile distance.
