About the race
Geaux Wild Ultra is scheduled for March 6, 2027 in Doyline, LA at Lake Bistineau State Park. The event is organized by BTR and returns for its third year with ultramarathon distances on park trails.
The course is a 5-mile loop that combines the Pintail, Willis-Homestead, and Koasati Trails. Distances and loop counts are:
- 100 Miler, 20 full loops
- 50 Miler, 10 full loops
- 50K, 6 full loops plus one mini loop
There are two aid stations on the loop. The main aid station at the Start/Finish area will offer hot food, trail snacks, water, ice, electrolytes, soda, and other fueling options. An unmanned station around mile 2 to 3 will provide water, snacks, ice, and electrolytes. Terrain consists of mostly flat state park trails with natural surfaces, muddy sections, and tree roots.
Pacers are allowed for all distances with specific entry points: for the 50K after three completed loops, for the 50 Miler after five completed loops, and for the 100 Miler after ten completed loops. Pacers may use all aid stations.
Lodging is available through Lake Bistineau State Park, which offers premium and improved campsites with water and electrical hookups. All participants receive race swag including a Dri-Fit shirt, a speed cup, and a bib belt; 100 Mile entrants receive a 100 Mile jacket. Finisher recognition includes medals for the 50K and 50 Mile and a buckle for the 100 Mile. Packet pickup is available Friday at the race location and early on race day.
