Geauga Park District Space Race
The Geauga Park District Space Race is a timed event held on October 3, 2026 at 10610 Clay Street, Montville Township, OH 44064, United States. Over a two hour period, participants run, jog, or walk as many laps of the course as they can. Each lap measures about 0.85 mile and corresponds to a notional trip through the solar system: one lap reaches Mercury, four laps reach Mars, ten laps reach Pluto, and further laps map to more distant destinations.
All participants who complete at least one lap receive a Space Race medal. When a participant finishes their effort, they receive a ribbon indicating how far they traveled and which planet they reached. Competitive awards are presented to the top three male and top three female finishers.
Registration opens July 13, 2026 and closes October 1, 2026. The registration fee is $20.00. The event format emphasizes cumulative distance covered within the set time frame and records both lap count and the associated planetary milestone.
