Fright at the Falls 5km
Fright at the Falls 5km is a Halloween-themed fun run and walk held on October 25th, 2026 in Grand Falls, New Brunswick. Distances offered include:
- 5 km Youth
- 5 km Adult
The event starts and finishes at the Malabeam (Malobiannah) Tourist Information Centre. The course runs largely beside the Grand Falls gorge and includes multiple viewpoints of the falls. The route crosses the Ron Turcotte bridge, follows Broadway Boulevard and Victoria Street, then continues onto the Gorge Trail past the zipline, La Rochelle Centre and waterpark. The circuit passes a campground, includes stairs and elevation changes, climbs Manse Street beside Union Cemetery, provides a viewpoint over the Saint John River, and returns along the Gorge Trail. The course has approximately 120 m of elevation gain and is not certified.
Registration is available online and on race day, with bib pickup and participant waivers to be signed the morning of the event. Entry fees are CAD 10.00 for youth and CAD 20.00 for adults. The event is not chip timed but will display an official elapsed time digital clock at the finish. A photographer will be present at the finish. Registered participants receive finisher medals; prizes include random draws and awards for best Halloween costumes. The event was established in 2025 and is part of a Youth Series offering.
