Freight Train 200
Freight Train 200 is a multi-day ultrarunning event held December 3–6, 2026, between Wolfe City and Farmersville, Texas. The course follows the Northeast Texas Trail (NETT) and is described by organizers as flat and runnable. The route starts at Tom Ellis White Campground in Wolfe City and finishes at the Farmersville Onion Shed.
Distances offered:
- 200 miles
- 100 miles
- 50 miles
- 25 miles
Organizers stage the 25, 50, and 100-mile fields alongside the 200-mile main event on the same path. The schedule is staggered across the event days, with the 200-mile field launching on Thursday, the 100- and 50-mile fields deploying on Saturday in early waves, and 25-mile fields running in morning waves on Saturday and Sunday. There is a final master course cut-off on Sunday and a 72-hour maximum time limit for the 200-mile event.
Timing is handled with manual clipboard logs at checkpoints and continuous video recording at the timing arch. Pacer rules: 200-mile entrants may use a pacer after mile 50; 100-mile entrants may have a pacer after mile 25; 50- and 25-mile entrants are not permitted pacers. The event is organized by Sigma Wolf, which emphasizes lower entry costs and coordination with local community groups and businesses. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
