About the race
The Freedom event in Georgetown offers road race distances on the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal path. The course is an out-and-back on a light gravel trail with minimal elevation change. Walkers are welcome and a virtual run option is available.
Points earned at this event count toward the Year‑Long 5k, 10k and Back of the Pack series and toward the Summer Series. The event partners with Operation Enduring Warrior as its charity.
Participants receive a finisher medal, a technical performance shirt, and chip timing. T-shirts are guaranteed for entries completed before June 23; additional shirts may be available after that date on a first-come, first-served basis. Live results are posted on Athlinks and a QR code at the race provides immediate results; final results with series points are posted on the following Monday.
