Folding Mountain Ultra
Folding Mountain Ultra is a trail running event on June 5, 2027, based at Folding Mountain Landing near the gates of Jasper National Park in Hinton, Alberta. Two courses leave from the same basecamp and return there multiple times, concentrating start, aid and finish access at the Landing.
Distances offered:
- 60 km solo and relay, 2,650 m climbing, 5 aid stations, 13 hour cutoff
- 25 km solo, 1,165 m climbing, 3 aid stations, 13 hour cutoff
The 60 km course follows ridgelines, includes a scree crossing near the summit and extensive mountain views; the 25 km course is a loop that climbs toward the false summit of Folding Mountain and runs alongside Roche à Perdrix. The summit of Folding Mountain is listed at 2,083 m.
Race-day services at Folding Mountain Landing include drop-bag collection at aid station 3, a lounge and hot food for finishers, on-site therapy and taping, and vendors for gear and nutrition. The site also hosts a brewery, food trucks, cabins, a hostel and a campground. A spectator zone overlooks the finish chute. The event reported more than 1,000 runners and spectators in 2026.
