Flag City Backyard Ultra - Findlay, OH
Flag City Backyard Ultra is a last-person-standing race held on a loop around the Findlay Reservoir (East Side). Competitors must complete a 4.3 mile loop every hour, on the hour, and the event continues until one runner finishes a loop alone; all other competitors are recorded as DNF.
The race is self supported. No food, drink, or supplies are provided on course, and competitors may not receive personal aid during a loop. Common aid stations are allowed. Runners must remain on the course except for restroom stops, and each loop must be completed within the hour to count. Artificial aids, including trekking poles, are not permitted. Slower runners should allow faster runners to pass. A whistle signals the upcoming starts with calls in the final minutes before each hour, and all competitors must be in the starting corral at the start.
New for 2026, the event will include professional timing, ankle and bib tags for tracking, live results online, and a full event stream. All entrants receive a technical shirt. The winner earns a Bronze Ticket invitation opportunity. Parking is available on the grass at the base of the reservoir; vehicles may drive to the top only for drop off. Tent camping is permitted the night before; porta-johns will be provided but no running water. After expenses, remaining funds will be donated to Habitat for Humanity.
