Fierce Dragon (H9) : Vogel State Park, Blairsville GA, January 12–17, 2027
The Fierce Dragon is a multi day ultrarunning event organized by H9 Events at Vogel State Park. The festival of races centers on repeated traverses of the Duncan Ridge between Vogel State Park and Skeenah Gap. The full 200 mile course consists of ten traverses of the main ridge, including an outbound crossing of Wolf Creek and an inbound route that uses Forest Service Roads 108 and 107 to reach Burnett Gap (Hwy 180). Only full Vogel-to-Skeenah-to-Vogel laps are counted for the 200 mile event.

- 100 Mile Firestarter
- 100 km Frozen Toe
- 40 Mile Flintstrike
- 40 km Frost Talon
- Coosa Challenge
Races begin on different days during the event week and all racing concludes on Sunday morning. The 200 mile race enforces a minimum progress of one full lap per 24 hours (about 40 miles per day) and a strict final cutoff of 120 hours. The 100 mile and 100 km events use staged cutoffs at key aid stations; the 100 mile may allow extra time for older runners.
Support points include the main shelter at Vogel, the Fire Pit, a Dragon Locker when available, Mulky Gap, and Skeenah Gap. Crew access is allowed with one vehicle per runner; some gaps require a crew placard and vehicle inspections apply. Parking at Georgia State Parks is available for a daily fee or via an annual pass; past annual pass cost was about $75. Registration closes on January 8.
