About the race
The Fenelon Falls Turkey Trot is an inclusive trail race and family fun run/walk held on the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend in Fenelon Falls. The event is based at the Garnet Graham Beach Park gazebo on the shore of Cameron Lake, 98 Francis Street West, Fenelon Falls, Ontario. Advance race package pickup is available the Friday before at the Fenelon Curling Club and additional package pickup is available on race morning at the gazebo. Online registration is required and closes a few days before the event; there is no race day entry. The event is pet free on the race course; pets are allowed in the park on leash and service animals are permitted on the trail.
The course is a flat, fast out-and-back on the Kawartha Rail Trail with a surface that is about 98% gravel or screenings.
Optional distances:
- 1 km kids family run/walk
- 5 km youth, adult and senior
- 10 km youth, adult and senior
The event is sanctioned by Athletics Ontario and includes timing, a custom souvenir bib, optional event t-shirt for a small extra fee, unique wooded finisher medals, and a cash prize purse for top open finishers in the 10k and 5k. The Turkey Trot supports local charities including Women’s Resources of Kawartha Lakes with a stated donation goal for the event year. Team discounts and volunteer opportunities are available.
