Faster For Foster Trail Run
The Faster For Foster Trail Run is an annual event held in Thompson's Station, Tennessee. Organized by New To You, Inc., a local nonprofit, the race serves as a fundraiser to support foster children in Middle Tennessee. The event takes place at Preservation Park and offers two distinct distances:
- 5 km
- 10 km
The 10 km race consists of two laps of the 5 km course. The route features a variety of terrain, beginning with roughly two miles on grass, cross-country surfaces, or gravel jeep roads. This initial section includes wide trails and a short out-and-back segment that passes under a train track bridge. The final portion of the loop transitions to technical trails on the Depot Trail, characterized by narrow paths with rocks and roots. The course concludes with a climb up a significant hill followed by a downhill finish toward the red barns near the pavilion.
This trail race is open to runners, walkers, and hikers of all ages. It is also a dog-friendly event, provided that pets remain on a leash. The course is marked with orange or pink flags, and participants are expected to follow "leave no trace" principles. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the first-place canine finisher in each race. Age group awards are also provided across several categories ranging from 12 and under to 80-89. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
