Extremo Sul Ultramarathon 2026
The Extremo Sul Ultramarathon is a long-distance trail running event held in the south of Brazil, specifically between Chuí and Cassino. The course spans 226 km along what is identified as the largest beach in the world. The race follows a linear path exclusively on the sand without alternative trails or complex navigation.
Participants compete in a non-stop format with a maximum time limit of 52 hours to be classified. The environment is semi-self-sufficient, meaning runners must be autonomous between official support bases. The route involves diverse surfaces including soft sand and compact sand, and participants may encounter weather conditions such as strong winds, fog, rain, and high tides.

Registration is limited to a maximum of 100 participants. To be eligible, runners must be at least 18 years old and have completed at least one race of 100 km or more since 2024. Mandatory equipment includes a hydration vest (minimum 1.5 L), front and rear lights, a mobile phone, a thermal blanket, a whistle, and a first aid kit. During night hours or low visibility, a reflective vest is also required.
The organization provides support bases with water, isotonic drinks, and food, as well as medical assistance and transport for two drop bags.
