About the race

Explore The Falls Race is a set of road and trail events around Lake Holcomb and the streets of The Falls at Imperial Oaks community. The event includes youth and adult distances and uses a mix of closed roads and trail sections through the neighborhood.

Distances offered:

  • 1K Kids course, out and back on a blocked road
  • 2 Mile walk/run, out and back on concrete road
  • 5K run/walk, 1 mile road, 1 mile gravel/grass/trail, 1 mile road
  • 10K run, 1 mile road, 4 miles trail, 1 mile road

The 5K and 10K share most roads and trails; the 5K turns around near the 1.55 mile mark while the 10K continues around Lake Holcomb and returns on Imperial Promenade. The kids 1K is held separately on a closed, all-road course.

On-course hydration is not provided for the Kids 1K or the 2 mile option. The 5K has hydration stations at about mile 1.3 and mile 1.8. The 10K has hydration stations at about mile 1.3, mile 2.5, and mile 4.7, with the longest gap between mile 2.5 and mile 4.7 (roughly two miles).

Included with registration are race photos, an event shirt, a finisher medal, on-course nutrition where provided, a race bib, age group awards where applicable, a sponsor swag bag, and access to the race expo. Registrations after October 16 may not receive a guaranteed shirt size. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
