Expedition Wild West
Expedition Wild West is a multi-day expedition race held in Park City, Utah in June 2027. The course covers about 350 miles over roughly 4.5 days and is planned for 80 teams. Team formats listed include two, three and four person teams; there is also a volunteer option. Team registration opens 2026-09-13 and closes 2026-12-01 with a registration fee of $1,200. Volunteer registration opens 2025-11-01 and closes 2027-06-02 with no fee.
The route moves from high alpine areas near the Wasatch to the shores of the Great Salt Lake and includes sections of alpine terrain, Utah singletrack, mountain lakes, rugged canyons and long descents. Disciplines named in the event information include trekking, single-track mountain biking, a lift-access MTB challenge, canyoneering (professionally guided, no experience required), glissading when conditions permit, classic orienteering, a mystery challenge and packrafting that includes flat water and Class II whitewater suitable for beginner paddlers.
Race week includes optional airport shuttles with a quoted add-on fee of $35 per person, racer check-in with gear and safety checks, pre-race briefings and gear turn-in, included team lodging for a pre-race night and post-race lodging with a hosted finish in Salt Lake City that features food, a finisher breakfast and awards.
