Epic East Gate
Epic East Gate is a trail running event held within Riding Mountain National Park on September 12, 2026. The race begins at the Historic East Gate, located about 15 minutes from McCreary, Manitoba, and is organized in partnership with Parks Canada.
Course options cover a range of distances and terrain:
- 10 KM out and back along lower Reeves Ravine.
- 25 KM single loop with elevation gain greater than 500 m.
- 50 KM figure‑8 course with elevation gain greater than 1000 m.
The 25 KM and 50 KM courses include views from Little Bald Hill and flowy single track sections with technical descents on Upper Reeves Ravine. The event is noted as the only ultra and trail running event held inside Riding Mountain National Park. It is part of the Ultimate Trails of Manitoba series, for which points are awarded to participants and series entry is managed through Manitoba Association of Trail Runners membership.
The event’s proceeds support active living initiatives; the organizer reports that 100% of profits are donated and that Race RMNP events have donated over $300,000 since 2014. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
