About the race

The Eiger Ultra Trail by UTMB is a trail running event held in Grindelwald in the Jungfrau region, at the foot of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. Routes run around Grindelwald and follow hiking paths including First, the mountain hotel Faulhorn and Schynige Platte, and pass up to Männlichen, Lauberhorn and Kleine Scheidegg as well as along the foot of the Eiger north face.

The event comprises several races with published distances and elevation gains:

  • E250 - UNESCO Trail: 261 km, 18000 m+ elevation gain.
  • E101 - Ultra Trail: 101 km, 6700 m+ elevation gain.
  • E51 - Panorama Trail: 51 km, 3100 m+ elevation gain.
  • E35 - North Face Trail: 35 km, 2500 m+ elevation gain.
  • E16 - Pleasure Trail: 16 km, 950 m+ elevation gain.
  • Trail Surprise: 15 km, 800 m+ elevation gain.
  • Kids Race: distance not specified.
