About the race
The Ebbser Koasamarsch is a long-standing event in Ebbs that the organiser describes as having cult status. It began as a walking event; for several years trailruns have been held in parallel with the hikes. The trailrun programme offers multiple mountain running formats with significant elevation gain: - 20.0 km, 1000 m elevation gain - 33.0 km, 1910 m elevation gain - 55.0 km, 3900 m elevation gain The event also maintains a range of hiking options and shorter valley walks, with examples including a 4.2 km valley walk, an 11.3 km valley walk, a 20.0 km mountain hike with 1000 m ascent, and a 33.0 km mountain hike with 1910 m ascent. The 56th Ebbser Koasamarsch drew about 1,200 participants from 26 nations. During that edition a new course record was set on the 55 km Panorama Trail and the event included the premiere of a KOASA kids sprint.
