Dunstable Downs Half Marathon
The Dunstable Downs Half Marathon is a trail race held at the National Trust centre in Dunstable Downs, Bedfordshire on 20 June 2027. The course is 21.2 km with over 450 m of cumulative ascent and a four hour time limit. The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association and held under UKA rules. It is an UTMB World Series Index race and open to runners aged 17 and older. Dogs are not permitted. The field is limited to 250 runners.
The route starts at the National Trust centre, heads out to the Tree Cathedral and Bison Hill, then completes a loop of Kensworth Quarry before rejoining the Downs for an out and back to Five Knoles and a return along the lower Downs trails. The course is fully marked with orange arrow markers and ribbons and will have marshals at sharp turns. Organisers recommend carrying a digital route map on watch or phone in case of navigation issues.
There are aid stations on course, with two checkpoints listed and items including water, coke, Precision Fuel & Hydration gels and jelly babies. Precision Fuel & Hydration products are provided at all aid stations. Event base facilities include on-site parking (£3.50 or free for National Trust members), toilets, a bag drop and a cafe that opens from 10am. Entry fees start at £35 for general entry, with prices rising on 01/03/2027. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
