Dunstable Downs Half Marathon
The Dunstable Downs Half Marathon is a trail race held on the National Trust estate at Dunstable Downs in Bedfordshire. The route covers 21.2 km with over 450 m of total ascent and is run on footpaths and lower downs trails. The course includes steep sections, concentrated elevation in the opening and closing 5 km, a flatter mid section around Kensworth Quarry, and a mix of ridge views, descents and climbs.
The route is fully waymarked using orange arrow markers and ribbons, with marshals positioned at sharp turnings and busy locations. A GPX file and route maps are provided for download and runners are advised to carry a digital version of the route on a watch or phone. There are two aid stations at 6.7 km and 13.7 km offering water, coke, gels and jelly babies, with Precision Fuel & Hydration products supplied on route.
The event base is the National Trust Countryside Centre at Dunstable Downs, where on-site parking, toilets and a bag drop are available. The race is licensed by the Trail Running Association and held under UKA rules. Entry is open to runners aged 17 and over, entries for the next edition open on 5 September 2026, and field size is limited to 250 runners.
