Duchy an Dinas 5

Duchy an Dinas 5 returns for its third year on 11 October 2026 and is part of the Cornwall MTRS. The event starts and finishes at the Duchy of Cornwall Nursery in Lostwithiel and covers a 5-mile mixed-terrain route.

The course is approximately 90% trail and includes over 1000 ft of elevation gain. Runners descend into a valley from the start, follow trails through the valley and climb to the English Heritage site Restormel Castle, where they complete a loop around the castle. The route then drops back into Restormel woods, loops toward the town of Lostwithiel, crosses the valley and the River Fowey, and returns to the nursery. At the nursery there is an additional loop through private woods used only for this event, finishing at the Woodland Terrace Tepee.

Practical details: minimum age is 18 years, the event operates a two hour cut off, it is a cupless event and there is no bag drop. Prizes are awarded to the top three male and female finishers and across age categories, with some spot prizes. All finishers receive a medal. A percentage of entry fees will be donated to Mind Cornwall. Parking is limited so car sharing is encouraged. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
