About the race
The Wachau Trail 2026 takes place on 2 and 3 October 2026 in Krems an der Donau, with the event base at Stadtpark Krems, Ringstraße 3159/1. The event is organised by Trailwelten - Verein für Outdoorabenteuer.
The programme offers a non‑competitive trail format that focuses on a personal challenge and on experiencing the local landscape through forests, vineyards and along the Danube. Participants choose their own pace and route; the event emphasises respect for nature, community and sustainability.

- 10 km: for beginners and leisure hikers.
- 24 km: a choice for active nature walkers.
- 35 km: for participants seeking a longer route.
- 56 km: a longer day on varied terrain.
- 77 km: for experienced trail participants.
- 101 km: an ultra distance for long efforts.
- 160 km: an extended multi‑day style challenge.
Registration closes on 19 September 2026. According to the event information, the 10 km, 24 km, 35 km and 56 km distances show no remaining places; 77 km has 6 places, 101 km has 17 places and 160 km has 3 places.
