The Dolphin Spotter Trail Run
The Dolphin Spotter Trail Run takes place on Sunday 27 September 2026 at Morgan Bay Hotel in Gxarha on the Wild Coast, Eastern Cape. The event is organised by The Leverage Corporation and presented by Stellantis South Africa.
The event offers four route options:
- 35 km Trail Run
- 20 km Trail Run
- 10 km Run / Walk
- 5 km Run / Walk
All routes use coastal trails with cliff-top and ocean views and finish at Morgan Bay Hotel. The 35 km race carries more than R6,000 in prize money. Entries include a race medal, full medical support and access to a professionally planned route. Additional services described for the event include a free event T-shirt for entrants who register before 13 September, lucky draw prizes, shower facilities at the Morgan Bay Caravan Park and food and refreshments for sale at Morgan Bay Hotel. Toasted sandwiches are provided for 35 km finishers.
The event also supports local initiatives. Proceeds benefit the Kei Rural Dog Project, Morgan Bay Crèche and other community upliftment projects. The organiser provides route planning and event management for a coastal trail running experience. Dolphins may be visible from parts of the route.
