Denali135
The Denali135 event series takes place along the Denali Highway in Alaska and includes three point to point endurance races. The main event covers approximately 135 miles of historic gravel road from Paxson to Cantwell with an approximate total elevation gain of 8,800 feet. The course passes lakes, lodges, a summit at about 4,086 feet, river crossings, and long stretches with no services for up to 50 miles.
Distances and formats include:
- Denali135 : 135 mile point to point race along the Denali Highway
- Denali100K : roughly halfway to Cantwell, point to point starting near Alpine Creek Lodge
- Denali50K : from Maclaren Summit to the finish at Alpine Creek Lodge
The 2027 edition is scheduled for June 19–20 and entry will be limited to 50 runners per race. Time limits are set at 48 hours for the Denali135, 18 hours for the Denali100K, and 9 hours for the Denali50K. Each Denali135 runner must be accompanied by a mandatory support crew and may use a pacer under event rules; crews require a service vehicle and must carry supplies and fuel for long unsupported sections. Applicants must meet qualifying race requirements specific to each distance and submit qualifying race information by the stated deadlines. Registration refunds are not offered; possible deferment is at the race director's discretion.
A portion of registration fees is donated to the Denali Education Center to support outreach and interpretive programs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
