Défi des 4 Versants : Saint-Elzéar

The Défi des 4 Versants is a trail running and walking event held in the rural, hilly territory of Saint-Elzéar. The event offers multiple distances on mostly natural surfaces, with courses routed on wooded trails, fields, an orchard and ski trails. Routes start and finish at the municipality's multifunctional field.

• 5.5 km race on mixed trails and woods
• 12.5 km race across three versants
• 17.5 km race crossing four versants
• 28 km Audacyeux race on mixed surfaces
• Team challenge 5.7 km course for teams of 3 or 4

Course details include predominantly off-road terrain : about 85% on uneven ground : so participants may encounter roots, tall or wet grass and other natural obstacles. Elevation gain varies by distance (for example ±71 m for 5.5 km, ±191 m for 12.5 km, ±259 m for 17.5 km, ±850 m for 28 km). Age minimums apply by event; the 1 km and 2 km remain available for children and families while many longer distances require participants to be 16 years or older.

Medals are awarded to top finishers in age categories for most events. If courses become impracticable due to weather, organizers may cancel events; in such cases registration fees may not be refundable.
