Canadian Death Race
The Canadian Death Race is the 27th annual mountain ultramarathon held in Grande Cache, Alberta, at 10450 Hoppe Ave. The event takes place from July 31 to August 1, 2027 and offers multiple race formats and a kids event.
The full course starts and ends on a 1,300 m plateau, crosses three mountain summits, and includes more than 5,000 m of total elevation change. The route also features a river crossing at Hell's Gate canyon where the Smoky and Sulphur Rivers meet. Organizers note course changes for 2027, including converting the Near Death Marathon into a 50k distance.
