2027 DC Mother's Day 5k & 10k
The event on May 9, 2027 takes place in Georgetown at 3530 Water St NW, Washington, DC. Distances offered:

- 10 km
Both courses run along the C&O Canal on a light gravel dirt road with minimal elevation change and use an out-and-back layout. Walkers and strollers are permitted on the course.
Points from this event count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k, and Back of the Pack series, and toward the Spring Series. A virtual race option is available for participants who cannot attend in person. The event partners with the charity Operation Turbo.
Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to top finishers in age-group categories: 1-7, 8-12, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. For the 5k only, the organizer expands the 19-and-under bracket into three separate age groups (1-7, 8-12, 13-19). Runners who place top three overall are not eligible to also win their age groups.
Participants receive a finisher's medal, a technical Dri-Fit event shirt, and chip timing. The 10k course includes three water stations (approximately miles 1.5, 3.1, and 4.65) and the 5k has one water station (approximately mile 1.5); Gatorade is available at some stations. Port-a-johns are located near check-in. Packet pickup is available at the event. There will be no on-site race registration. Live results appear on Athlinks and final results with series points are posted the Monday after the race. Photos taken by staff are posted to the organizer's social pages by the Tuesday after the event.
