Dark Divide Trail Races
The Dark Divide Trail Races are a set of trail running events held in early September in the Dark Divide Roadless Area, within the Gifford-Pinchot National Forest near Randle, Washington. Distances offered include:
- 100 mile endurance run
- 100 kilometer race
- 50 kilometer race
- 14 mile fun run
The 100 mile event is a qualifier for Hardrock 100 and the Western States Endurance Run. The course runs on steep, technical trails through a remote, rugged area of more than 70,000 acres.
Race headquarters and the start/finish area are at Cispus Learning Center near Randle, WA. Facilities at Cispus Learning Center include tent and car camping, showers, parking, and bunkhouses; bunkhouse reservations are available through UltraSignup for a fee. Registration is handled through UltraSignup.
Silver Star Search and Rescue provides search, rescue, medical, and communications support for the event. A portion of race proceeds is designated for Silver Star Search and Rescue and for the All Play Elementary Facilitation Program. The event is held on lands with historic ties to the Cowlitz, Xwáłxwaypam (Klikitat), and Yakama peoples. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
