About the race
Dam Yeti 50 is a multi-distance trail running event in Abingdon, VA held June 5–6, 2027 and organized by Yeti Trail Runners.
Distances include:
- 50 Miler
- 55K
- Pepsi Challenge 25K
The course begins near Whitetop Station and finishes in Abingdon. The first 9.8 miles of the main course are primarily downhill with National Forest views, followed by about 6.9 miles into the town of Damascus. A broken Pepsi machine is located between Damascus and Alvarado and is noted on the route. The 50-mile race is run as an out-and-back with a pacer pickup option; the 55K follows a single-direction route to the finish.
Event logistics note that the race is cupless, so a hydration pack or bottles are mandatory. The course includes crew access points, allows self-drop at the start, and is described as well supported. Timing is provided by professional chip timing services. The Dam Yeti is part of the From Start to Heart series; the series limits participation to 50 runners and offers a combined registration option for the series races.
