The Dam Yeti 50 is a trail ultramarathon event in and around Abingdon, VA, organized by Yeti Trail Runners and scheduled for June 5-6, 2027. The event features multiple distances and race formats, and uses chip timing provided by ZEN ARCADE TIMING with real-time tracking and live splits.
Distances offered:
- 50 mile
- 55K
- Pepsi Challenge 25K held the day after the main races
Course notes describe a point to point layout with significant downhill terrain early in the route. The first 9.8 miles are largely downhill with National Forest views, followed by about 6.9 miles into the mountain town of Damascus. A known landmark on the route is a broken Pepsi machine located between Damascus and Alvarado. The 50 mile run includes an out-and-back element and a pacer pickup option; the 55K is a straight shot course.
Operational details include cupless race policies requiring a hydration pack or bottle, self-drop at the start, accessible crew points along the course, and course support. Time limits are published for each distance. A special award is noted for competitors who complete both the weekend races. Registration opening information is provided by the organizer.
