About the race
Cowboy 100 is a 100-mile ultramarathon held on April 17, 2027, in Nebraska and organized by Ultraverse Supplements. The race is a point to point event that runs from Valentine to Atkinson along the Cowboy Trail.
The course follows the Cowboy Trail, an old rail-trail made of crushed limestone. The trail is non-technical, fully runnable, and very flat. The route for 2027 runs the second half of the 200-mile course in reverse and includes a large bridge near sunup. Because the route is technically new, previous course records for the original Cowboy 100 will not transfer.
Planned full aid is available at Arabia, Wood Lake, Johnstown, Ainsworth, Long Pine, Bassett, and Stuart, which reduces the average distance between aid stations to about 14 miles compared to roughly 20 miles when the event was combined with the 200. Other event details include live GPS tracking by Legends Tracking USA, a shuttle option for uncrewed runners, and a generous 34-hour cutoff.
Field size is capped at 150 runners. Finishers of the 100-mile race will receive new buckle hardware for 2027. The event has a no refund and no bib transfer policy; entry may be deferred for race credit under a tiered schedule based on how far in advance the deferral is requested, with no deferrals allowed after March 17.
