Cowboy 100
The Cowboy 100 is a point-to-point endurance race taking place in Valentine, Nebraska. Organized by Ultraverse Supplements, the event features a 100-mile course along the Cowboy Trail. This trail is a former railroad corridor consisting of crushed limestone and is entirely off-limits to motor vehicles. The route is non-technical, flat, and fully runnable, making it a viable option for those attempting the distance for the first time or seeking a personal record.
The course begins in Valentine and concludes in Atkinson, following the second half of the Cowboy 200 route in reverse. Participants cross a large bridge near daybreak and pass through the Nebraska back-country. The event is limited to 150 runners to maintain a specific level of athlete attention.
A 34-hour cutoff time is provided for the 100-mile distance. Aid stations are planned at approximately 14-mile intervals in the following locations:
- Arabia
- Wood Lake
- Johnstown
- Ainsworth
- Long Pine
- Bassett
- Stuart
Finishers receive a newly designed buckle for the 2027 edition. Live GPS tracking is provided for all participants. For uncrewed runners, a shuttle service is available. The race also contributes to the Cowboy Hall of Fame, where runners who accumulate 1,000 total miles between the 200-mile and 100-mile events receive a personalized Sheridan buckle and discounts on future entries.
