Community Traverse - Lakes 100KM
The Lakes 100KM is a point to point mountain ultra through the Lake District that follows Wainwright’s Coast to Coast route. The route runs from St Bees to Shap and includes coastal paths, steep climbs, rocky descents, and mountain terrain. Sections are waymarked but participants should not rely solely on waymarks for navigation.
Checkpoints are positioned along the route, with key locations including Ennerdale, Borrowdale, Patterdale and Shap. Each checkpoint will provide water, hot food with vegan and gluten free options, snacks and race nutrition, indoor access, toilet facilities and first aid support. A bag drop service operates from the start to the finish.
This event is a physically demanding 100 km mountain ultra. A mandatory kit list applies and will be detailed in the final race pack. Live tracking will be provided and trackers must be returned by participants. A GPX file and final route details will be issued in advance. Overall cut-off for the event is 30 hours; individual checkpoint cut-offs will be given in the race pack.
The event is registered with the International Trail Running Association and finishers earn ITRA endurance points. Entries open 27 April 2026 and close 1 March 2027. Minimum age on the event date is 20 years. Entry fee is £80. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
