Community Traverse Coast to Coast 300KM

The Coast to Coast 300KM is a multi day ultra event that follows Wainwright’s established route from the Irish Sea at St Bees to the North Sea at Robin Hood’s Bay. The event is a full crossing of England on foot and is organised by Community Traverse.

Participants traverse three national parks: the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales, and the North York Moors. Terrain varies and includes mountain trails, moorland, forest tracks, farmland, and road crossings. Sections are way marked, but participants are expected to be competent in navigation. A GPX file and final route details are provided in advance.

Structured checkpoints are positioned along the route at Ennerdale, Borrowdale, Patterdale, Shap, Kirkby Stephen, Richmond, Ingleby Arncliffe and Egton Bridge. Checkpoints provide water and hot food with vegan and gluten free options, snacks and race nutrition, sleeping facilities, toilets, and first aid support. Family and support are welcomed at designated checkpoints. A bag drop service is available at selected checkpoints.

Live tracking is used for all participants and a mandatory kit list applies. The overall cut off for the event is 112 hours and participants must meet individual checkpoint cut offs. Minimum age is 20. The event is registered with ITRA and finishers earn ITRA endurance points. Entries open 27 April 2026 and close 1 March 2027; entry fee is £155. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
