About the race

Cluny Castle Running Festival takes place at Cluny Castle in Sauchen, Inverurie AB51 7RT, UK and is organised by Up and Running Events. The event uses chip timing and a measured course and provides finishers medals, hydration stations, kilometre markers, course marshals, event music, an instructor-led warm up and goody bags with sports nutrition items and offers. Race bibs are collected at the registration desk on the day of the event and race-day information is sent to participants by email and stored in the entrant profile with the booking partner.

Event formats referenced by the organiser include:

  • 5k
  • 10k
  • half marathon

Age and participation notes follow Scottish Athletics guidance: 5k runners should be 11 or above and 10k runners should be above 15. Children remain the responsibility of their parent or guardian, who must remain onsite. Typical cut-off times applied by the organiser are 1.5 hours for 5k and 10k races and 3 hours for half marathons. Dogs are not permitted on the course and standard headphones are not allowed, with bone-conduction headphones accepted. The organiser operates a refund and transfer policy: refunds up to 30 days before the event, transfers or voucher points up to 7 days before, and transfer to another person or virtual participation up to 3 days before; cancellations and postponements are managed with credits or honouring original bookings. Online entries typically close two days before the event, with on-the-day entries available where the event has not sold out. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
